See, NBA basketball runs for longer than an NFL season, so making the entire length of one is a bit harder, and especially if you play more than one game in a week. Starters get injured all the time, so every few weeks you end up having to start one of your bench players to fill in for the marquee guy who can’t take part because of his condition. However, impact players is where every star player gets his start normally, and there are a lot of bench players that show that they have a lot of talent. A recent Sports Illustrated article took a look at some very promising bench players filling in for starters in the NBA that are making waves on both sides of the ball, like Roger Mason (San Antonio Spurs) and JJ Barea (Dallas Mavericks), to name a few. These guys have stepped up in the absence of the normal guy to make points, and they’ve been doing it. They have filled in when business as usual gets interrupted by circumstance, like a payday loan can.
