Criminals and terrorists will be suing for twisted ankles and rope burn from being netted. Activists will claim that anything that forces a psychopath to fall to the ground is inherently demeaning.

But the ability to take people alive when they either don’t want to be (e.g. so called ”martyrs”) or when they are deluded enough to think they can escape would be very helpful you can get far more information from an uncooperative gang member or terrorist who is alive than from one who is dead and that is even without being able to hurt their feelings via interrogation.
